is a trained artist and maker who has shown her work across the country and traveled around the globe. Her work at Shelter helps clients explore intention, expansion and integration in spaces. She is passionate about connecting craftspeople and projects, leading to the varied and rich spaces Shelter designs. After graduating with a BFA from The Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at George Washington University, Karie worked with an environmental design non-profit in DC. Many moves and projects later, Karie is now based in Asheville, NC.
received his Masters of Architecture from the Tulane School of Architecture in New Orleans. As a designer and past-builder, he brings an architect’s sensibility to Shelter’s interiors. He is passionate about designing pieces and features that explore the edges of how space can be used and how it can make you feel. After working with architectural design firms in New Orleans, Manhattan and Brooklyn, Rob is now based in Asheville, NC.
is Shelter’s General Manager. She came to Shelter after six years in the media industry, where she worked for three startups in a row, finally following her love of design to interiors. Stephanie manages Shelter’s operations and projects, and is passionate about smooth-running systems and exceptional client experiences. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in Journalism and Political Science, Stephanie moved to LA and then to Asheville, NC. She also serves on the Center for Craft’s Board of Directors.
