SHELTER is a interdisciplinary design firm that work with clients on a variety of projects. We are artists and designers, from homes to handbags. Our interests lie at the intersection of art, design, and craft.
Projects and offerings include interior design, architectural design, product design, and styling. We focus on modern and unique residential, retail, restaurant, hospitality, exhibition, and cabin design.
Rob Maddox is a Principal Designer at SHELTER and received his Masters of Architecture from the Tulane School of Architecture in New Orleans. Having worked with architectural design firms in New Orleans, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Asheville, he is currently the architectural Principal Designer at SHELTER. As a designer and past builder he embraces all aspects of the design process.
Karie Reinertson is a Principal Designer at SHELTER and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at George Washington University in Washington, DC. She has shown her work in San Francisco, CA, Washington, DC, Portland, OR and Asheville, NC. Prior to SHELTER, she worked for an environmental design non-profit in DC and travelled extensively.
Laura Evans is an Associate Designer at SHELTER and received her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the School of Environmental Design at University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. She has worked in landscape and textile design and construction in Brooklyn and Asheville. She is the owner of OUTRA Textiles.
Cyd Jaggers is a Junior Designer at SHELTER and received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arkansas. She has worked in architecture and construction in Fayetteville, Arkansas and New Orleans.
